Housing Tips and Tricks

Ahoy, pirates! As I continue working on my Aquila bath house, I have decided to post some tips that might help you achieve the look you are seeking for your homes. So, without further adieu, here are my housing tips:

Tip 1: Themes-
This one is I live by when decorating. It not only helps me decide how to decorate, but also what house will work best. Each house has a different style and feel to it, allowing for tons of possibilities for options on looks. Creating a theme for a house helps to keep the look unified and not a massive storage shed for all those potted ferns. My Haunted Grotto and Cutthroat Cove are 2 good examples. The Grotto is dark and mystic looking. My theme for it was to turn it into a eerie playground for a witchdoctor, with a mysterious Aztecasaur temple and a spell crafting area. The Grotto's look and theme are based on several worlds that play well off each other to make one well rounded house. The Cutthroat Cove's massive beaches and large cave system made it prime for a Cool Ranch themed world, complete with a mining operation and a Bison village. This house focused mainly on one world for it's style, with accents taken from the other points in the spiral. 2 different ways to decorate than can lead to great results.

Tip 2: Patience-
Decorating a house can take a while, especially when it comes to the items themselves. Sitting around the bazaar, going back and forth to worlds, planning where the items are going, setting them in the right location, and double checking the look. This all takes time. Some houses have taken me months to set up, mostly because of time and money. Which brings up tip 3...

Tip 3: Farming-
Gold is going to be your biggest factor in decorating a house. If you want to strive for that certain look you want, you need gold and lots of it. Friar Sand is the best fight for gold. He's a straight forward fight that drops lots of gold (approximately 1,000 gold a fight). That expensive little trinket you need to make your home complete will be yours in no time.
You'll want a lot of this for decorating...

These are all the pointers I have for you. I've gotta go make sure Hawkules hasn't wallpapered himself to the wall again. Until next time... Pirates... UNITE!!

Speedbump

Hello, Pirates! Two days ago I got a membership and have been speeding through Aquila like a bullet. I'm near the end and have completed all of the Aquila sides making me complete every side quest in the game!
All of my Book Side Quest badges.
I would've continued and blogged about me finishing up my Privateer, but there is one HUGE problem - I'm blocked in my game progress. This problem is not difficulty of any sort; it is a bug.

The Problem

During my adventures on my Musketeer, I had the same problem as I did now. It came back to haunt me. On the quest, "Bring Me My Bow!", (click the quest name to a visual of the quest goals) I had found Medea, defeated Medusa, and returned the statue to Medea. She brought me back to Ithaca to talk to Ulysses. However, when I tried to turn in the quest, Ulysses still had a gray question mark above his head instead of a yellow question mark! I couldn't turn in the quest and advance.

Thanks to Kingsisle Support, they responded quickly and they're currently working on my character to fix the bug. I just got this notice on my game as I was writing the "The Problem" section!

Love you, Kingsisle Support. xoxo
Last time, it took them longer, so I had another section in this post for what I was going to do to pass time as I waited for them to respond and fix it. I guess that ruins my plans for decorating my Commodore's Garrison (Privateer) and training for PvP. Oh well! This is better! I'll put those off for another time. Hopefully they'll fix it and give me the next quest, "Ulysses Triumphant!" so I can continue my questing and finish my fourth character in Pirate101!

Future Worlds

Hello there pirates! Sorry for my long absence on Pirates Unite. But let's get back to what we all love, our posts! So today I was thinking about the worlds of the spiral and all the possibilities of what these worlds could have to contribute to the Pirate101 storyline. Here are a couple that could possibly be released in updates to  come....

1. Polaris.
We have been to Polaris, right? No? Oh, well it's a lovely place if you love glaciers... and penguins.. and pickled herring... mhm. We all know of the Polarian War that led to the creation of the Clockwork Armada. Does anybody think that maybe sometime in our journeys throughout the spiral, we will visit Polaris? There is a chance, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

2. Valencia Part 2.
With the Pirate101 ending it's practically certain we'll be returning to Valencia for the Armada storyline. Question is if answers to the ultimate strategy to defeat Kane shall be answered in Valencia. Shall we explore Cadiz, centre of Kanes power? Shall we meet this Caligostro G? All shall be answered soon!
3. Grizzleheim
I may have spelled that wrong... I don't know much about the chances of us going to Grizzleheim... but we still have to check for Erika the Red. A trader, just like most bear of that land. There is a possibility that we could go but also a possibility we won't.
4. Darkmoor
Now I don't know much about this one, except that it has been mentioned a few times throughout the game. There is a small view of Darkmoor while travelling through stormgates, and some cool concept art. There is a possibility this could be a sideworld for the game. Could Darkmoor be a future world for Pirate101?
5. Rajah
Rajah could be a potential side world for Pirate101 as well. Popular belief is that it is an Indian themed land, home of tigers. Not much is known about Rajah but it has been mentioned a few times in the Marlybone storyline. Could we see Rajah in the future?

Well, that's all I got for today. Stay tuned for more posts on Pirates Unite from me and the crew! Have a great day!

New Crowns Shop Items!

Hello, mateys! Currently, I am more active in Wizard101, but I still got a blog post up.

Recently there have been three additions (with one as a category) to the Pirate's Crowns Shop.

Though one was added at the beginning of the summer and one a tad after the Advanced Pet update, I thought I could rap them up in a post on this lovely (and hot!) day.

The first item is the "Summer Daisy Eyepatch". This is an adorable accessory and is only 100 Crowns in the Crowns Shop.

Kingsisle owns this picture - I just needed one!

The second item is the "Mechanical Owl". For 2500 Crowns, you can get this adorable little sidekick! (I absolutely LOVE the glow and design!)

Thank you to Kelsey Fireheart for the image!

The third, and biggest add, is the new Marleybone themed Furniture! Now you can add a Marleybonian touch to your house! In the Crowns Shop, these items can also be purchased for gold (for varied amounts). Here shows the image and Crowns price of each item.

That is all. Farewell, mateys, and enjoy the new items!

Housing Showcase: Skullrock Stronghold

Hello, pirates! I finally finished decorating the Skullrock Stronghold house on my Buccaneer that I've been decorating this summer! It was a little tricky with the strangeness of the theme of the house given and the lack of variety of furniture they have in Pirate101, unlike Wizard101. Without futher ado, below are some pictures of the house:

Outside

The Entrance!

One out of three rival camps: The poor one.

The second of three rival camps: The moderate one.

The last of the rival camps: The rich one.
A little pond away from all the fighting and hatred.
A picnic area with covers in case the owners of the castle
 invite a few friends over.

Inside

Training Arena!

The Living Room.

The Library: Part One.

The Library: Part Two.

The Library: Part Three.

The Kitchen.

The Map Room. (Thanks to Wesley for this idea)
The Bedroom.

That's all for this house! If you have any comments or suggestions, please post them below. We love feedback!

If you want your house featured on the Pirates Unite Blog, please send pictures of it along with captions, your pirate's name, and any additional comments to PiratesUniteBlog@Gmail.com.

Until next time, Fair Sailing, Pirates!

Happy 100(th) to Pirates Unite

Ahoy mates! I can't believe we made 100 posts on this site! It's been 6 short months since we started this site and your support has been great. Without you guys it would not have been possible. This site has been a labor of love. I remember when Chase asked me to help him with the site with some brainstorming ideas in October. Chase appointed me Community Manager and we set out to make a site that all Pirate101 players would enjoy. At that time, Chase was the Admin, and Ian was the owner. We wanted to be a site for the players to focus on being a community. We have always strove to keep main focus on providing news, entertainment, a few laughs, and even good ol' fashioned piratey goodness to all. I can't believe all the changes the site has undergone in such a short time, and even though we've had some great staff members come and go, we'll continue to do our best in keeping you guys the main focus of of site. We welcome suggestions as we enter a new era on PU. Thanks for all the continued support and we hope to continue delivering you more tales from the windlanes. Pirates... UNITE!!

New Housing Project

Ahoy all. Sorry for my absence on the Pirate scene. I am back, however, with a new housing project. Now I can hear all (none) of you asking, "What is this wonderous house of wonder you are working on, oh wonderful Witchdoctor of witch... doctor... ness?" Anyway, I'm turning the Aquilan house from the Emperor's Villa into a bath house/ spa themed relaxation getaway. Hey, even pirates have to unwind. Once it is completed, I will offer tours. Until then, enjoy these teaser shots:

This will be the main entrance to the bath house

I'm thinking about making this into a dining area. What do you think?

Changing area
I'll continue to post progress as it goes. Look forward to more housing projects from me and my alternate pirates here on PU. And as always... Pirates.... UNITE!

Skull Island Expansion Overview and Review

Hello, Pirates! My membership had seemed to end during the time I was on vacation, so I took the time to test out the new Skull Island expansion, as I have bought up to the last third of Monquista with crowns.

*If you don't want the new area's plots to be spoiled, please skip over the "overview" section and go straight to the "review" section.

Overview

Manny

Manny, one of the rats in Blood Shoals with Lasko (the rat who sent us on the mission to help all three other rats), sailed with a pirate named Zadok. They were trying to find the "City of Gold." They had almost found it, when they heard a terrible roar from the cave they were in, and Manny ran out and left Zadok behind. When you arrive, Manny tells you to go in the cave and find Zadok.  After you find Zadok, he tells you to go up a well in the cave that you're at the bottom of and you should be in the City of Gold. It turns out he was actually correct! However, the City of Gold is inhabited by Aztecosaurs who are in trouble. You have to help save their city from an ancient Aztecosaur's spell.

Moe

Moe, the second rat, wronged his true love, Fair Wilhemina. The two were going to get married, but Wilhemina was swept off her feet by another rat named Captain Gordon. Moe took the wedding ring and hid it so Wilhemina and Gordon couldn't be married. You're sent to get the ring and return it to Wilhemina, but there's one problem when you get to her - Captain Gordon was kidnapped by the Red Claw Gang! You eventually meet up with their leader, Buster Crab, and he offers you a trade: Captain Gordon for The Dutchman's Gold Hook. When you find out that the Dutchman's ship is in Marie Celestia, you sail off there and get the golden hook for the trade. Finally, you get Captain Gordon from the Red Claw Gang and reunite the couple.

Jack

Jack, the last rat, worked for Captain Avery, however, the Cutthroat Sharks paid Jack to spy on him. Jack knows that they're up to something big, and you have to find out what they're up to. The plan doesn't even begin with the Cutthroats. The prawn (little shrimp-like creatures) are actually behind the big picture. The prawn are extremely intelligent unlike the weak-minded Cutthroats. They plan to send a ship full of dynamite and naptha, the most explosive material in the whole spiral, into Skull Island! The explosion would wipe out the Cutthroats and the pirates. The prawn race would rule Skull Island! The prawn are all ruled by an emperor prawn they call "The Master." Eventually, you meet him, defeat him, and save Skull Island!

Review

Below is a list of how I'd rate each quest and a little reflection on each one.

  • Manny's quest - 9/10. It's plot was nice. Zadok was a funny addition to the game. He was almost completely out of his mind. This quest had some nice Wizard101 references.
  • Moe's quest - 7/10. I felt like it was losing it's storyline a bit when you get to the Dutchman's ship, but as a whole, the quest was pretty good.
  • Jack's quest - 8/10. This quest was a bit lengthy, but worth it. The plot was amazing, and I loved the prawn and how they thought they were superior to pirates that were way bigger, smarter, and more powerful than them.

Overall, I'd say the new areas are great. Each of them have a unique plot and set of characters, and they all end up including what we used to have in Blood Shoals before the update. I recommend you do all three parts of the new Skull Island Expansion. It's a fun way to pass time, enjoy new things, and find funny characters and references along the way!
